Product Design and Development
We wanted to design a product that could be picked up into an existing product line. Kids love bigger and bigger toys, just look at what Nerf has. So we envisioned a foam rocket launcher. The goal was to create a concept product that could launch larger foam projectiles and open a new market of larger launchers in the toy industry.
Rethink the entire assembly and manufacturing process, prototype over 10 designs per product, and create a design language anchored in its roots but more fitting for modern design.
A new design language, streamlined components for use across multiple products, and manufacturing time decrease. This was accomplished through use of new component suppliers, manufacturing floor redesign, tooling optimization, and the complete redesign of the inside of the cabinets. This allowed for the addition of several new products, all of this over a 3 year period.
